About This Role

This role involves providing trilingual interpretation and translation services for project meetings and documents, ensuring clear communication between various stakeholders in a project setting. The position suits a meticulous individual with strong language skills and an understanding of technical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide trilingual consecutive interpretation (Chinese-English-Bahasa Malaysia) for project meetings
• Ensure effective communication between the Chinese team, client, supervisor, local subcontractors, and Malaysian authorities including CIDB and DOSH
• Perform written translation and proof-reading among Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia for reports, documents, and official correspondence
• Ensure translation quality for client and regulatory review, and properly archive translated documents
• Support external-related meetings: translate multilingual meeting documents, compile bi-lingual / trilingual meeting minutes, and follow-up action items
• Offer language support for on-site, video, and telephone conferences
• Complete other translation and ad-hoc foreign-affairs tasks assigned by management

Requirements

• Major in translation or foreign languages is preferred
• Good command of Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia
• Capable of on-site interpretation and technical-document translation
• Prior experience in overseas infrastructure or railway projects is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of civil construction and HSE terminology
• Willing to learn civil-railway and E&M vocabulary
