Introduction
These Terms are the agreement between you and the operator of JobAssist (in this document, "JobAssist," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern access to and use of JobAssist.com and everything we make available through it - job search, application tracking, resume tools, career resources, all features connected to subscriptions or one-time purchases. Throughout this document we call all of that "the Service."
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Notice (which is incorporated by reference). If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
The Service is for adults: you must be at least 18 to register, and by signing up you confirm that you are. You also confirm you will use the Service in line with the laws that apply to you.
We may revise these Terms. Material changes are communicated through the website or by email; smaller updates are posted with a new effective date. Continued use after a change is your acceptance of the new version.
What JobAssist is - and what it is not
JobAssist is a technology platform that connects job seekers with employers and gives candidates tools to organize and run their search. We are a software product, not a hiring entity, a recruitment firm, an employment agency, a staffing company, a career counselor, or a background-check provider. We do not employ candidates and we do not select them. Every hiring decision is made by the employer.
Because of that, we do not promise - and cannot promise - that you will receive callbacks, interviews, offers, a particular salary, a specific role, advancement, satisfaction with your eventual work, or any timeline for becoming employed. Outcomes depend on factors outside our control: your qualifications, your interview performance, the market, employer demand, competing candidates, and timing.
The job postings, employer descriptions, salary data, company information, and similar content you see on the platform come from third parties (employers, data suppliers, and other users). We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee that any of it is accurate, current, complete, or authentic. Researching a posting, vetting an employer, and validating any compensation or benefits claim before you act on it is your responsibility.
Your account
To use the Service, give us a working email address. We send a one-time link to that address to authenticate you (we do not use passwords). The credential is yours to protect - keep it confidential, and tell us immediately if you suspect someone else has reached your account.
Information you give us during signup and afterwards must be accurate, current, and complete. Updating it when it changes is your job. Misrepresenting your identity or your qualifications is a violation of these Terms.
You may have one account per person. You may not transfer access to anyone else without our written consent. We may refuse, restrict, or close accounts when we detect fraud, abuse, repeated violations of these Terms, or unauthorized use. Access to specific features can also be limited based on your trial status, your subscription tier, or recent account activity.
You can request account deletion at any time by writing to help@jobassist.com from the email on file. After we verify the request, we permanently remove the account, the resumes you uploaded, your application history, and associated data within 30 days. Once deletion is complete, you cannot log back in with that account, but you are welcome to start a new one with the same email later.
License you have to use the Service
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial job search. The license depends on you keeping these Terms; it ends if you breach them, and ends automatically if your access is closed for any reason. Nothing in this license transfers ownership of the Service, the content, or the intellectual property in either.
You may not copy, scrape, reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from the Service, its software, or its content. You may not interfere with how the Service runs, route around its security, or use it in any way the Terms do not allow. All rights we have not explicitly granted here remain with us and our licensors.
Content on the platform
Content we provide - listings, employer information, salary indicators, career resources, anything we publish - is informational. We work to keep it useful, but we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness, and you should not rely on it as a substitute for professional advice or independent verification before making a meaningful decision. We retain all rights to it, and your license to use it is limited to your own job search.
If something on the platform looks inaccurate, misleading, or unlawful, write to support. We may review, but we are not obligated to update or remove content unless the law requires it.
Things you create and submit
We call the materials you upload - resumes, cover letters, profile information, work history, skills, portfolio samples, application responses - your Contributions.
You keep ownership of your Contributions. By submitting them you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, copy, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, distribute, display, and transmit them as needed to operate the Service and run your job search - which includes sharing them with employers when you apply.
You are also confirming, every time you submit, that:
- Each Contribution is yours, or you have the rights, consents, and permissions needed to share it on the platform and have us share it with employers;
- It does not infringe any third-party intellectual-property right;
- It is truthful and not misleading about your qualifications, history, education, or skills;
- It does not include confidential information that belongs to a current or former employer, and it does not breach any non-disclosure or non-disparagement obligation you owe;
- It does not include defamatory or deceptive statements about anyone;
- It does not contain content that is offensive on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other protected characteristic;
- It complies with all applicable privacy, employment, intellectual-property, and other laws.
You acknowledge that anything visible to an employer when you apply will be shared with that employer for their consideration of you, and you consent to that sharing.
We may, but are not required to, review, edit, refuse, or remove Contributions for any reason - including if they violate these Terms, the law, or generate complaints. We are not responsible for Contributions you upload. To report something, contact support.
Subscription, trial, and pricing
The Service operates on a paid subscription model. We offer three subscription plans:
- 7-Day Plan: $9.99 for the first 7 days, with full access to premium features.
- 1-Month Plan: $19.99 for the first month, with full access to premium features.
- 3-Month Plan: $39.99 for the first 3 months, with full access to premium features.
After the initial period ends, the account converts automatically to the recurring subscription tier you chose at signup, at the rate shown on the billing page before purchase and confirmed in the receipt email. Tiers and pricing may vary by region, by promotion, or as we add new options. The price you see at checkout is the price for that purchase, and proceeding with checkout is your acceptance of it.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically. The amount you signed up for will be charged to the payment method on file at the start of each billing cycle. To stop renewals, cancel before the cycle ends - see section 8.
Failed payments
If a charge fails, we retry over a 30-day window. If after 30 days the payment is still unsuccessful, we may suspend the account and restrict access until the balance is settled.
Price changes
If a subscription price changes, we will notify existing subscribers in advance and give you the option to cancel before the new price takes effect.
Currency
We support local-currency billing in some regions. Where local currency is unavailable, we charge in USD. Conversion rates and fees are set by your bank or card issuer; any charges they apply for the conversion are between you and them.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS-compliant provider; we accept major credit and debit cards and selected regional methods.
Refunds
Initial plan fees are refundable if you ask within 7 days of the charge and you have not used premium features. After that, regular subscription fees are non-refundable, with two exceptions: (a) Service unavailability of more than 24 consecutive hours that is not the result of scheduled maintenance or force majeure, and (b) clear billing errors such as duplicate charges or wrong amounts.
To request a refund, write to help@jobassist.com within 30 days of the charge with your account email, the transaction details, and the reason. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days.
We do not refund partial or unused subscription time after a cancellation, plan changes, feature changes, or charges that occur because cancellation was not completed before the next billing cycle.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time. The cleanest path is the cancellation flow in your account settings or the instructions in the Help Center. You can also email help@jobassist.com with your account email and a clear cancellation request; a support agent will process it inside 1–2 business days and confirm by email.
A cancellation stops future charges. The current billing period continues to its end, and the account keeps full access until then. Keep the confirmation for your records. If a cancellation does not go through and you continue to be billed, contact support promptly; charges that occur because the cancellation was not completed remain your responsibility.
How you may use the Service
The Service is for legitimate, personal job search. Use it accordingly, follow the law, and respect the people you interact with on it.
That means don't:
- submit false, misleading, or fraudulent applications, or apply to roles you have no genuine interest in;
- create multiple or impersonating accounts, or use someone else's identity;
- harvest, scrape, or extract data with bots, crawlers, or scripts;
- reverse-engineer or attempt to circumvent security measures;
- use information obtained through the platform to recruit for a competing service, build candidate or employer databases, send unsolicited marketing, harass anyone, or commit fraud;
- harass, spam, or behave abusively toward employers or recruiters;
- upload confidential or proprietary information of a current or previous employer, or trade secrets, or anything you are legally bound not to disclose;
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory based on a protected characteristic, or otherwise inappropriate;
- disrupt the Service - overload it, attack it, introduce malware, or interfere with its performance;
- use the Service for unlawful purposes, identity theft, or stalking;
- resell or redistribute access, data, or features.
When you do interact with employers through the platform, communicate professionally, respect their confidentiality on interview discussions, and either honor scheduled interviews or give reasonable notice if you cannot attend.
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access in response. Where serious or unlawful, we may report to authorities.
Equal employment and FCRA
JobAssist is committed to equal employment opportunity. We follow applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
When you use the Service, you agree to comply with anti-discrimination laws - including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and applicable state laws - and not to post or interact with discriminatory listings or content.
Listings and user content posted on JobAssist may not specify age ranges, limits, or preferences (other than legally required minimums); express preferences for gender, race, or any other protected characteristic; request photos or personal information unrelated to job qualifications, unless the request is a bona fide occupational qualification; or otherwise violate fair-employment principles.
To report discriminatory content or practices, write to compliance@jobassist.com with the subject "Discrimination Report" and include the listing ID or user profile, the specific concern, and a description. We respond within 24 hours, complete the investigation within 3–5 business days, and remove violating content. Accounts behind violations may be warned, suspended, or terminated. We document the incident, cooperate with legal investigations where required, and report to authorities when necessary.
FCRA. JobAssist is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We do not run background checks. Employers conducting background checks must do so through licensed consumer reporting agencies and provide the FCRA notices and authorizations required of them. Information from JobAssist is for sourcing and outreach only.
We control what happens on the platform. We cannot control discriminatory practices that take place outside it - in interviews, hiring decisions, or post-hire employment - and we are not liable for them.
Communications
Using the Service means consenting to operational messages from us: receipts, account notifications, security alerts, application updates, system notices, subscription-renewal reminders, and similar messages. These are part of how the Service works. They cannot be turned off independently of closing your account.
We may also send you marketing - new features, special offers, career resources, product updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any of those emails or from your account settings. Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect operational messages.
Third-party links
The Service may include links to third-party websites and resources - employer sites, career resources, partner services. They are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement, approval, or any affiliation. Each third-party site has its own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control or guarantee. Visiting them is at your own risk. We are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from visiting them or using anything found on them.
Intellectual property
The Service and its contents - software, code, graphics, logos, icons, images, page layout, design, text, data compilations, and so on (together, the "Content") - belong to JobAssist, its affiliates, or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade-secret, and other intellectual-property laws.
Using the Service does not transfer any of those rights to you. You receive only the limited license described in section 3, and only for personal, non-commercial use.
You agree not to copy, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, display, perform, publish, distribute, transmit, broadcast, or otherwise exploit any part of the Service or Content without our prior written consent. You may not remove, alter, or obscure copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices on the platform.
You keep ownership of your own Contributions, and grant us the limited license described in section 5.
The trademarks, service marks, logos, trade names, and trade dress on the Service are ours or our respective owners'. Using them without written consent is not allowed.
If you believe content on the Service infringes your intellectual-property rights, write to legal@jobassist.com with a description of the work, where it appears on the Service, and proof of your rights. We may, in our discretion, remove or disable access to content we believe may infringe.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent the law allows, we and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and providers (the "Disclaiming Parties") disclaim all warranties - including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, freedom from viruses or harmful components, and any warranty that the Service will produce employment outcomes, that listings or employer information are accurate, or that any specific results will follow from using it.
You assume responsibility for your decisions: which jobs to apply to, what to put in your application, who to communicate with, which offers to accept. The Disclaiming Parties are not responsible for those choices.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties. If that is true where you live, the disclaimers above apply to the maximum extent permitted, and you may have additional rights.
Liability cap
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Disclaiming Parties - together, the "Released Parties" for this section - are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to use of, or inability to use, the Service. That includes:
- not getting hired, not getting interviews, not hearing back from employers;
- lost wages or income, lost opportunities, relocation costs, and other financial outcomes connected to your job search;
- the conduct of employers or recruiters you connect with through the Service - discriminatory practices, breached employment agreements, workplace issues, or misrepresentations about a role;
- loss, deletion, corruption, or inaccuracy of data, resumes, applications, or other information stored or transmitted through the Service;
- interruptions, delays, or failures of the Service, including downtime or maintenance windows;
- errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in third-party content - listings, employer information, salary data.
In any case, the total liability of the Released Parties for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the six (6) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not paid us anything, total liability shall not exceed $100.
These limits apply regardless of the form of action - contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, any other theory - and even if we had been advised of the possibility of the damages.
If your jurisdiction does not allow some of these exclusions or limitations, they apply to the maximum extent allowed, and you may have additional rights.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JobAssist, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and providers (the "Indemnified Parties") from any claim, demand, action, liability, damage, loss, cost, or expense - including reasonable attorneys' fees - arising out of or related to: your use of the Service; your breach of these Terms or the law; your Contributions, including any false, misleading, or infringing material in them; any unauthorized disclosure of confidential information you uploaded; any defamation, disparagement, or copyright issue connected to your Contributions; and any unauthorized activity through your account, whether by you or by someone reaching it through your credentials.
The Indemnified Parties may, at their own expense, assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter you would otherwise indemnify. If they do, you agree to cooperate and not settle without their written consent.
This obligation survives termination of your access and expiration of these Terms.
Equitable relief
Some breaches of these Terms - particularly misuse of intellectual property, scraping, or unauthorized exploitation of data - can cause harm that money cannot fully repair. In those cases we may seek injunctive or other equitable relief without posting a bond. The availability of equitable relief does not waive any other remedy.
Disputes
We strongly prefer resolving issues directly. The process below applies to all disputes arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms.
Step 1: Informal resolution. Write to help@jobassist.com. Describe the issue with your account information, transaction details, and what you would like to see happen. Both sides agree to make a good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
Step 2: Formal escalation. If informal resolution does not work inside 30 days, escalate to escalations@jobassist.com. Include your account details, a description of the dispute, supporting documentation, and prior correspondence. We respond within five business days. If that response does not resolve it, escalate further to escalations-management@jobassist.com for management review; a final internal decision is provided in writing within fifteen business days.
Step 3: Binding arbitration. If the formal escalation does not resolve it, the dispute goes to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration is conducted in English by a single arbitrator and may take place virtually or in Delaware. Arbitration must be filed within six months of the dispute arising. Filing and arbitrator fees are split equally unless the arbitrator awards otherwise; each side pays its own legal fees unless the arbitrator awards otherwise. The arbitrator's decision is final and binding.
Exceptions to arbitration. Three things are not subject to arbitration: intellectual-property disputes, claims that fit inside small-claims-court jurisdictional limits, and requests for emergency injunctive relief. These can proceed directly in the appropriate court or forum.
Class action waiver. YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL BE RESOLVED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, ANY CLASS ARBITRATION, OR ANY PRIVATE-ATTORNEY-GENERAL ACTION. THIS WAIVER IS A MATERIAL AND NON-SEVERABLE PART OF THESE TERMS, AND IT INCLUDES WAIVING THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS PROCEEDING. If a court finds this waiver unenforceable in a particular jurisdiction, every other provision of these Terms remains enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Governing law and forum
THESE TERMS AND ANY DISPUTE CONNECTED TO THEM ARE GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE, WITHOUT REGARD TO ITS CONFLICT-OF-LAW PRINCIPLES. THE STATE AND FEDERAL COURTS LOCATED IN DELAWARE HAVE EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION OVER ANY MATTER NOT SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION, AND YOU CONSENT TO THAT JURISDICTION AND VENUE.
We may, however, seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or enforce these Terms.
Any claim or cause of action arising out of your use of the Service must be brought within one (1) year after it accrues, unless applicable law forbids that limitation.
Privacy
The Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data, including categories collected, purposes, retention periods, and your rights. By using the Service you accept those practices. If anything in this section conflicts with the Privacy Notice on a privacy point, the Privacy Notice governs.
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data processed through the Service. Your profile, resume, and application materials are accessible to an employer only when you apply to a posting they own, or when you choose to make your profile visible.
To exercise your data rights, use account settings, or write to help@jobassist.com.
The fine print
Modifications and survival. Modifications must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative; oral changes are not valid. Provisions that should naturally survive termination - intellectual property, liability cap, indemnification, dispute resolution, governing law - do survive.
Waiver. Failure or delay in exercising a right under these Terms is not a waiver. A partial exercise of any right does not preclude future exercise. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative; a waiver of one breach is not a waiver of others.
Headings. Section headings exist for navigation. They are not legally binding and do not affect interpretation.
Severability. If any provision is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable while preserving its intent; if it cannot be modified, it is severed and the rest of the Terms remain in full force.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice and other policies they incorporate, are the complete agreement between you and us about the Service, replacing any prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, understandings, or agreements on the same subject.
Reserved rights. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without notice or liability - including features, plans, or availability - and the right to refuse, restrict, or remove any user, listing, or content that we believe violates these Terms, the law, or our policies. All intellectual-property rights remain with their respective owners. Decisions made under these reserved rights are final.

Payment terms summary
This summary recaps the payment-related provisions for quick reference. Sections 6 and 7 above are controlling; this summary does not change them.
Plans. We offer three subscription plans: 7-Day Plan ($9.99), 1-Month Plan ($19.99), and 3-Month Plan ($39.99). Each provides full access to premium features for its initial period.
Recurring plan. After the initial period, the account converts automatically to the chosen subscription at the recurring rate shown at checkout. Pricing may vary by region and promotion.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel before the cycle ends to stop the next charge. Cancelling does not refund the current cycle; access continues to its end.
Failed payments. We retry failed charges over a 30-day window. Persistent failure may suspend access until the balance is settled.
Refunds. Initial plan fees are refundable inside 7 days if premium features have not been used. Subscription fees are non-refundable except for (a) Service unavailability of more than 24 consecutive hours not caused by maintenance or force majeure, and (b) clear billing errors (duplicates, wrong amounts). Refund requests must be filed inside 30 days, in writing, to help@jobassist.com. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days.
Currency, taxes, and bank fees. Local-currency charges are supported in some regions; otherwise USD applies. Conversion rates and any fees set by your bank or card issuer are between you and them.
Price changes. We notify existing subscribers in advance and let you cancel before the new price takes effect.
Disputes. Before initiating a chargeback, contact help@jobassist.com so we can resolve the issue directly - chargebacks based on confusion that we could clarify in a few hours hurt both sides.
By starting a subscription or making a purchase, you accept these payment terms in full.
