Process Technician

About This Role

This Process Technician role drives process excellence and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position focuses on optimizing processes using structured problem-solving methods, lean manufacturing principles, and data-driven analysis, aiming to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput while ensuring products meet specifications and supporting new product builds.

Responsibilities

• Live and promote the Ariens Core Values and 15 Principles
• Wear required personal protective equipment
• Conduct process audits
• Update standard work and support documentation
• Participate in safety and ergonomics improvement activities
• Lead and facilitate daily improvements, removing roadblocks
• Analyze processes using time studies and work balancing
• Support the continuous improvement process
• Identify and implement value analysis / value engineering projects
• Ensure uptime is monitored and improved
• Recommend improvements that reduce waste, improve flow, and strengthen productivity and delivery
• Identify, implement, audit, and troubleshoot tooling and fixtures
• Submit maintenance and SAFA requests when support is needed
• Help resolve operation issues that affect safety, quality, delivery, or productivity
• Support new work area layouts and setups, new technology integration, Production Verification builds, Design Verification builds, and production control system changes that impact operations
• Train and develop team members to embrace a safe, continuous improvement mindset
• Communicate process changes clearly
• Partner with operations personnel to sustain improvements in respective work areas

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated skill in planning, coordinating, and implementing projects of varying size and scope
• Proficiency with computers for communication, documentation, and data reporting
• Previous experience applying lean principles to support continuous improvement
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills when working with diverse teams in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day
• Ability to use hands to position parts
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds at varying frequencies
• Ability to manipulate hand tools
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
