Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in approximately two hours using adaptive software. No traditional lectures or textbooks are involved. Your role centers on what technology cannot replicate: developing life skills in Pre-K through 8th grade students—skills such as public speaking, sustained attention, and constructive feedback exchange. You will spend half your time facilitating hands-on workshops using established playbooks and narrative techniques. The remaining time is dedicated to 1:1 or small-group sessions where you analyze student progress through adaptive learning platforms via Coachbot analytics and ensure they reach 100% of their weekly objectives. Mastery is demonstrated through Test2Pass assessments, not participation metrics.

During your first year, you will manage a student cohort and become proficient in Alpha's methodology: life skill workshops, motivational coaching, and mastery-based evaluation. Once you consistently hold every student accountable to 100% goal completion while maintaining satisfaction ratings above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes available—a role where you mentor other Guides while remaining engaged with students directly. What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating one-hour life skill workshops for Pre-K through 8th grade students covering public speaking, focus, collaboration, and feedback skills (project-based and hands-on format)
• Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions to review student progress in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish goals, and ensure 100% weekly target achievement
• Administering Test2Pass assessments and evaluating results to verify genuine mastery of each life skill rather than mere participation
• Adjusting your coaching approach across diverse age groups, from Pre-K learners requiring energetic and kinesthetic engagement to 8th graders needing direct conversation and accountability
• Cultivating authentic connections with each student to establish trust that allows effective coaching through moments of resistance, distraction, and uncertainty

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Delivering traditional lectures or academic instruction (core subjects are covered through adaptive applications, not direct teaching)
• Creating lesson plans or original curriculum (Alpha supplies structured life skills playbooks; your responsibility is to execute them with energy and narrative skill)
• Handling parent communications or administrative tasks (Campus Leads manage those areas; your attention remains on students)
• Evaluating homework or preparing for standardized tests (these elements do not exist in this environment)
• Operating independently (you collaborate within a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who provide feedback and mutual accountability)

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• 3+ years of direct experience with Pre-K through 8th grade students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership capacities)
• Demonstrated experience motivating or coaching Pre-K through 8th grade students toward academic, behavioral, or extracurricular objectives, with at least one concrete example you can articulate (including the objective, your actions, and the result)
• Regular use of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude)
• Available to work on-site at Alpha's Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands campus (relocation assistance provided)
• Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth sports coaching, camp leadership, or after-school programs where you held direct accountability for motivating children toward specific objectives
• History of notable personal achievement (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions demanding sustained excellence)
• Strong storytelling capability: you can maintain the attention of a room full of 12-year-olds for an hour without needing to raise your voice
• Success in engaging disengaged or resistant students and converting them into active contributors

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
