About This Role

This part-time Yoga Instructor role at the YMCA of Orange County is an opportunity to inspire and empower members by delivering engaging, safe, and effective group exercise classes. The position focuses on fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful, promoting healthy lifestyles and community well-being.

Responsibilities

• Motivate participants to achieve wellness goals and model positive habits
• Create welcoming spaces and build meaningful connections that enhance member experience
• Deliver engaging, safe, and high-quality classes aligned with organizational standards
• Uphold safety regulations and ensure proper care of equipment and facilities

Requirements

• Minimum age: 21+ years old
• Up to 2 years of experience in aerobic/anaerobic and strength conditioning
• Related background in health and/or fitness
• Yoga Certification
• First Aid and CPR certifications (training provided and paid for by the YMCA)

Nice to have:

• Two- or four-year degree in health, exercise science, recreation, or physical activity-related field
• Coursework in human anatomy, exercise physiology, and kinesiology

Important Details

• Work Schedule: Instructor must be available to teach a Sunday class at 8:30am
