X-Ray Technician

Location: New Hyde Park, New York
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $32.00 - $39.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: 5 Days per Week | 40 Hours Weekly

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technician to perform diagnostic radiologic procedures while ensuring exceptional patient care, image quality, and radiation safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a JRCERT-approved Radiologic Technology program.

  • Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License (L.R.T.).

  • ARRT Certification in Radiography.

  • Current AHA BLS Certification.

  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.

  • Minimum two (2) years of X-Ray Technologist experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic radiology procedures.

  • Ability to operate X-ray imaging equipment safely and effectively.

  • Excellent communication, patient care, and teamwork skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures by explaining examinations and positioning them appropriately.

  • Operate X-ray imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Adjust exposure factors and utilize immobilization devices as needed.

  • Apply radiation safety techniques to protect patients and staff.

  • Maintain infection prevention and safety standards.

  • Process and evaluate radiographic images for quality and diagnostic accuracy.

  • Document patient information and imaging results accurately.

  • Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns.

  • Maintain radiology supply inventory and support departmental operations.

  • Follow regulatory guidelines, facility policies, and quality standards.

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
