X-Ray Technician

About This Role

This X-Ray Technician role involves performing diagnostic imaging to help clinicians assess patient conditions and guide care. You will prepare patients, operate imaging equipment, and follow radiation safety procedures at every step. This position may involve work in radiology, urgent care, emergency medicine, or other clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Verify imaging requests, explain procedures, and position patients for clear, appropriate images
• Operate X-ray and other radiologic imaging equipment; support diagnostic evaluation and maintain accurate records
• Apply radiation safety protocols, use aseptic technique when required, and protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure
• Check equipment function, follow quality procedures, and communicate imaging concerns to the care team
• Acquire accurate, safely acquired images to help clinicians make informed decisions and support timely patient care

Requirements

• Patient care skills
• Medical terminology
• Anatomy and physiology knowledge
• Medical equipment operation
• Experience with X-ray, radiology, medical imaging, and radiation safety procedures
• Experience in urgent care, an emergency room, emergency medicine, or a Level I or Level II trauma center is valued
• Familiarity with diagnostic radiology, diagnostic evaluation, and implementing radiation safety protocols is an asset

Nice to have:

• Experience with CT (computed tomography), fluoroscopy, sonography, mammography, DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry), PET (positron emission tomography), nuclear medicine, interventional radiography, or interventional radiology
