WORKING CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN Norristown, PA | Full-Time | Permanent
$110,000 to $120,000 Commercial renovation contractor seeking a Working Construction Foreman with 5+ years of commercial construction experience and a track record managing $1MM+ projects. Candidates should be based in Montgomery County and come from a union construction background.
The Foreman works alongside the trades while directing day-to-day field activities, coordinating subcontractors, and keeping commercial renovation projects on schedule. Projects involve occupied and existing commercial buildings, interior renovations, build-outs, and construction modifications.
Responsibilities:
- Work hands-on in the field while directing crews and coordinating daily construction activities.
- Schedule manpower based on project requirements and upcoming work.
- Read and work from architectural drawings, specifications, schedules, and project plans.
- Lay out work, establish daily priorities, and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Prepare material lists and submit material requests based on project requirements.
- Coordinate multiple trades and sequence work to maintain project schedules.
- Monitor workmanship, dimensions, installation, and jobsite conditions.
- Coordinate deliveries and material staging and address field conflicts before they impact production.
- Write daily reports documenting manpower, work completed, materials, deliveries, jobsite conditions, and issues affecting the project.
- Communicate progress, field issues, and schedule impacts to project management.
- Enforce site safety requirements and maintain an organized, productive jobsite.
- Interface with owners, subcontractors, inspectors, and other project personnel as required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience, including commercial renovation or interior construction.
- Experience as a Working Foreman or equivalent field leadership role on commercial projects valued at $1MM+.
- Union construction background with hands-on trade experience.
- Experience scheduling manpower and coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on active commercial jobsites.
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania drivers license.
Preferred:
- Experience with occupied-building renovations and phased construction.
- Experience reading architectural, structural, MEP, and detail drawings.
- OSHA 30 or other recognized construction safety training.
