We are seeking an expert-level Project Business Analyst to support a statewide Cloud POS Modernization initiative. This role is ideal for a senior analyst with deep experience in cloud-hosted payment solutions, enterprise integrations, and complex modernization projects. You will partner with business leaders, technical teams, and vendors to drive requirements, testing, and deployment of a new cloud-based point-of-sale platform supporting DMV operations across North Carolina.

The analyst partners with leadership, field operations, engineering teams, AWS/cloud architects, and vendors to ensure the solution meets modernization objectives, improves reliability, restores NFC/contactless acceptance, and integrates cleanly with DMV enterprise systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead elicitation and validation of business, functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements for cloud-hosted cashiering, payment processing, device management, and financial reporting.
  • Translate modernization drivers such as PCI DSS compliance risks, device management constraints, and reconciliation issues (duplicate charges, refund delays) into actionable requirements.
  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, data flow diagrams, and integration specifications for an integrated AWS-hosted point-of-sale solution.
  • Support UAT cycles, validating performance, stability, customer experience improvements, and compliance outcomes.
  • Evaluate sync processes between cloud POS, DMV backend systems, and enterprise financial platforms.
  • Support phased statewide rollout preparation, including pilot plans, training coordination, device estate planning, and operational readiness.

Qualifications:
This role requires 4+ years of professional cloud experience, preferably across AWS and Azure, including:

  • Secure API-based payment integrations and data synchronization
  • Scalable architecture analysis for high-volume transaction processing
  • Performance optimization and monitoring of cloud-hosted transactional systems
  • Understanding of PCI DSS v4.0, P2PE, encryption, and tokenization workflows, consistent with the modernization strategy

Skill Required / Desired Amount (Years):

  • Experience supporting and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for complex enterprise solutions: Required 7
  • Expert-level experience with cloud-hosted point-of-sale (POS) and payment processing solutions: Required 7
  • Strong background in enterprise systems integration and modernization initiatives: Required 7
  • Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud architectures supporting POS and payment systems: Required 7
  • Ability to translate modernization drivers (e.g., PCI DSS risks, device constraints, reconciliation issues) into actionable requirements: Required 7
  • Strong understanding of payment device management, NFC/contactless acceptance, and cashiering processes: Required 7
  • Ability to assess performance, stability, customer-experience outcomes, and compliance alignment during testing and deployment: Required 7
  • Proficiency in eliciting, analyzing, and validating business, functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements: Required 7
