About This Role
Developing custom WordPress websites and plugins for clients is the main focus of this role. You will work within a team of designers, developers, and project managers to ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop custom WordPress websites and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure the successful delivery of projects
- Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during development, testing, and production
- Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress development trends and technologies
- Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet client needs
- Test websites and plugins for performance, security, and compatibility with different devices and browsers
- Provide technical support to clients and address any issues that arise
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- At least 3-5 years of experience in WordPress development
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with WordPress development tools such as WordPress Codex, WP CLI, and Git
- Knowledge of WordPress best practices for security, performance, and SEO
- Ability to customize WordPress themes and plugins using PHP and CSS
- Familiarity with responsive web design principles and techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug issues quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Nice to have:
- Experience with WordPress page builders such as Elementor, Divi, or Beaver Builder
- Knowledge of WordPress multisite environments
- Familiarity with e-commerce plugins such as WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PHPUnit or Codeception
- Experience with cloud-based development environments such as AWS or Azure
