About This Role
This role is for a WordPress Developer who can build, maintain, and optimize scalable and secure WordPress websites. It involves custom theme and plugin development, working with design and product teams, and collaborating with international clients.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable and secure WordPress websites
- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements
- Work closely with design and product teams to translate requirements into functional WordPress sites
- Optimize WordPress applications for performance, speed, and responsiveness
- Manage website deployments, updates, and testing
- Collaborate with international clients on requirements, updates, and feedback
- Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and project discussions
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development
- Proven experience building responsive and user-friendly websites from scratch using WordPress
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (jQuery)
- Solid understanding of WordPress architecture, database structure, and best coding practices
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations within WordPress
- Familiarity with MySQL databases
- Strong knowledge of website optimization techniques (page speed, SEO best practices)
- Excellent English communication skills—both verbal and written
- Comfortable working with international clients across US, UK, and Europe
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Nice to have:
- Experience with popular page builders like Elementor or WPBakery
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Understanding of UI/UX design principles for web
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for website deployment
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce
- Experience with caching mechanisms and security best practices for WordPress
