Role Description

• We are seeking an experienced WordPress Developer to lead the technical strategy and development for our portfolio of internal and business division websites In this contract role you will oversee daytoday feature development maintain system security and stability and architect custom WordPress solutions tailored to evolving business needs The ideal candidate pairs a deep mastery of WordPress architecture with strong frontend design sensibility

Key Responsibilities

• Development UX Translate Figma design mockups into fully responsive performant and crossbrowser compatible WordPress builds Apply foundational UX design principles to layout and construct engaging interior web pages
• Architecture Customization Architect custom WordPressbased features plugins and blockbased enhancements that meet complex business requirements
• Audit Quality Assurance Review existing sites to ensure compliance with modern best practices including web performance SEO accessibility legal standards and security protocols Conduct structured code reviews for ongoing projects
• Stakeholder Vendor Management Partner with product managers to identify UX improvements and costreduction opportunities Evaluate 3rdparty vendor proposals project estimates themes and plugins to advise stakeholders on technical viability
• Scrum Estimation Provide accurate scope estimates for bugs and custom features review external estimates for technical accuracy
• Maintenance Version Control Manage code deployment and versioning using Git and Bitbucket Troubleshoot complex core theme and plugin conflicts as they arise
• Documentation Standards Maintain clean clear documentation for all internal applications custom block frameworks and system architecture
• Qualifications Requirements
• Experience 4 years of professional web development experience with a proven track record as a WordPress ArchitectLead Developer
• Core Technical Stack Advanced proficiency in PHP HTML5 CSS3SASS JavaScript and MySQL
• WordPress Mastery Expertlevel knowledge of modern WordPress architecture including Gutenberg custom block development Reactbased custom themeplugin development REST API and hooksfilters
• Tooling Hosting Proficiency with GitBitbucket version control workflows and handson experience with the WP Engine hosting environment preferred
• Modern Frontend Frameworks Exposure to JavaScript frameworks like React or Vuejs
• Optimization Compliance Handson experience optimizing site speed Core Web Vitals and technical SEO structure
• Soft Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate directly with nontechnical business stakeholders
• Methodologies Familiarity with AgileScrum product management workflows and tools JiraConfluence

Other Details Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance and internal equity.
