About This Role
Developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites for various client projects is the core of this remote, project-based position. This role suits an experienced WordPress Developer who can work independently and collaborate with a remote team on new builds, redesigns, e-commerce projects, and ongoing improvements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain both custom and theme-based WordPress websites based on client and project requirements
- Work with WordPress, ACF, Elementor, and other commonly used tools and plugins
- Develop custom functionality or plugins when required
- Build responsive pages based on approved designs and layouts
- Integrate e-commerce, forms, third-party tools, APIs, and other functionality when needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues including broken elements, server errors, forms, and theme/plugin conflicts
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, responsiveness, and technical SEO
- Manage website migrations, deployments, domains, hosting, and DNS when required
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other team members throughout the project
- Communicate progress clearly and work within agreed timelines and project requirements
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience
- Strong portfolio of completed WordPress websites
- Strong experience with WordPress, ACF, Elementor, and theme customization
- Good knowledge of back-end technologies including PHP and MySQL
- Familiarity with website deployment, hosting, domains, and DNS
- Understanding of website performance, technical SEO, and WordPress best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and provide realistic estimates
- Clear and reliable communication
- English required
