Wind Turbine Technician

About This Role

This permanent position in the Inverness area involves performing essential maintenance, fault analysis, and complex repairs on wind turbine generator systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. The technician acts as a key technical representative in the field, working both independently and collaboratively to maintain wind assets, coordinating on-site activities and managing technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-performance wind turbine systems through proactive service and diagnostic excellence
• Lead on-site service campaigns and coordinate with internal and external contractors to ensure project success
• Resolve complex technical faults by performing detailed analysis and implementing effective repair solutions
• Collaborate with clients to address technical queries and provide updates on retrofits and maintenance progress
• Improve system reliability by documenting findings, repairs, and service reports with precision and accuracy

Requirements

• Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments across the UK
• Willing to work holidays, weekends, and on-call rotations as required by field assignments
• Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments
• Ability to work safely at heights
• Ability to diagnose and remedy complex electrical or mechanical faults in wind turbine systems
• Capability to work independently or lead a team in high-pressure, site-based environments
• Understanding of PLC systems and standard diagnostic software tools
• Expertise in electrical engineering, power electronics, or mechatronics
• Keen interest in continuous professional development and contributing to the success of a growing energy team
