Wildlife Technician

About This Role

This on-call position supports disaster restoration efforts, focusing on wildlife management activities for an estimated project length of 6-9 months. The role suits a candidate who can work outdoors, identify plant and wildlife species, and contribute to vegetation management planning.

Responsibilities

• Successfully contribute to all aspects of vegetation management planning and analysis
• Perform general wildlife management activities including: habitat management, native seeding, food plot development, and invasive species management
• General area maintenance involving mowing, the use of hand tools, chain saws, and/or trimmers
• Safe operation of all equipment

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Hold a current U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record
• Love of the outdoors and the ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
• Ability to identify plant and wildlife species in the eastern United States
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in wildlife biology, animal ecology, or other closely related area of study

Important Details

• Project Length: 6-9 months
• Travel costs covered and per diem provided
• When on project, you can expect to go back home at least once per month
• Travel expectations: Up to 100%
• Locations: Charlotte, NC; Atlanta, GA; Clemson, SC; Knoxville, TN; Ashville, NC
