About This Role
This role involves coordinating fitness and wellness programs and services for the Virginia State Police. It focuses on facilitating fitness and care coordination with medical providers and community resources within the Center for Innovation and Partner Engagement, Holistic Wellness Services Program.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate fitness and wellness programs and services for VSP
- Facilitate fitness and care coordination with medical providers and community resources
Requirements
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance
- Knowledge of individual differences in ability, personality, and interests
- Knowledge of learning and motivation
- Knowledge of psychological research methods
- Knowledge of the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
- Knowledge of planning, coordinating, and conducting a diversified wellness program
- Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to develop or coordinate fitness and wellness programs and/or services
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain confidential documents and information
- Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English with employees, vendors and the public
- Relevant professional experience to include demonstrated skills in providing mental health services in a law enforcement or similar setting
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
Nice to have:
- Certification related to counseling, social work, psychology, substance use, or a related field
- Training and experience in crisis de-escalation, mental health first aid, or related mental health interventions
