Wellness Coach

About This Role

This wellness coach role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs for residents, focusing on their emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual needs. The position suits an energetic and compassionate individual with experience in programming for seniors in recreational settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate internal and external recreational programs focused on clients' emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual needs
• Lead recreational programs in a variety of settings, such as large groups, small groups, and one-on-one
• Prepare rooms, materials, and equipment for recreational programs
• Motivate and facilitate client participation in recreational programs and community involvement
• Document client progress evaluations, admission assessments, and other reports, as needed
• Maintain accurate records of client participation; analyze data to assist in the development of appropriate programs
• Assist in the training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers and student placements

Requirements

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in recreation and leisure studies, or an undergraduate degree in recreation and leisure studies (preferred)
• Energetic and compassionate individual who enjoys working with seniors and has experience in programming and planning for seniors in a recreational environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong computer skills
• Proof of valid and up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification is required
• Willingness to obtain a Class 4 driver's license required for client transportation
