About This Role
This role is for a MIG Welder and Steel Fabricator who enjoys custom manufacturing and fabrication work on industrial equipment, plating systems, tanks, and custom-fabricated components. The position suits someone who can read drawings, figure out jobs, fit parts together, and build items correctly.
Responsibilities
- MIG weld steel components and assemblies
- Fabricate and fit steel parts from drawings and measurements
- Cut, drill, grind, and prepare steel for fabrication
- Read and understand shop drawings, dimensions, and measurements
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate settings
- Measure and check work for accuracy
- Build custom steel components and assemblies
- Work with other members of the fabrication team to complete projects
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Help with other shop and fabrication tasks as needed
- Occasionally travel with the company for customer installations, service work, or other projects
Requirements
- Ability to MIG weld confidently
- Ability to read a tape measure and basic fabrication drawings
- Understanding of fit-up, squareness, alignment, and weld placement
- Ability to work independently once given a project
- Ability to figure out problems instead of waiting for someone else to solve them
- Attention to detail
- Consistency and dependability
- Ability to work safely and keep the work area organized
- Pride in building something correctly the first time
- English language (Required)
- Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
Nice to have:
- Previous welding or fabrication experience (willing to consider someone with less experience who has a strong work ethic, mechanical ability, and willingness to learn)
- 1 year of MIG welding experience (Preferred)
- Welding Certification (Preferred)
