About This Role
This Waste Management Technician role involves treating liquid and solid waste for proper disposal, gathering samples, and performing related duties. The position is based on-site and requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform treatability studies
- Gather samples of waste to perform treatability studies
- Record daily flow in the absence of the Manager
- Calibrate pH meters in the absence of the Manager
- Act as an attendant and, when necessary, perform confined space entry for tank truck cleaning
- Assist wastewater operator with pumping, cleaning, and maintaining wastewater equipment
- When necessary, dump, cut up, and dispose of drums and totes
- Assist in cleaning truck unloading lines
- Provide equipment maintenance as needed
- Perform pump cleaning and maintenance
- Operate a lift truck as necessary
- Operate backhoe as necessary for removal or movement of solid waste
- Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
Requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to use tools and equipment
- Ability to work in all weather conditions outdoors
- Have a working knowledge of forklifts and backhoes or be willing to receive on-the-job training to operate a forklift and backhoe
- Have or be able to complete confined space entry training
- High School Diploma, preferred but not required

Important Details
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
- Overtime: mandatory from time to time based on business need
