About This Role
Working in a family-owned commercial roofing company, the Warehouse Manager oversees warehouse operations, organizes and maintains equipment and materials, and coordinates with the superintendent on inventory. This role suits a candidate who can repair small engines and assist with sheet metal fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, clean, and secure working environment in the warehouse and ensure all areas of the warehouse are kept extremely organized
- Oversee warehouse activities including, but not limited to the safe receipt, storage, and inventory of roofing materials with the operation of a forklift
- Contact and manage relations with freight carriers both local and intrastate to schedule deliveries
- Accurately process detailed paperwork to ensure all materials are received in the deliveries
- Assist Sheet Metal Technician with sheet metal fabrication
- Pick up/drop off trucks to auto shops and or material/equipment to jobsites in town
- Repair small engine machines such as blowers, roof cutters, generators, etc. (this is a requirement for employment)
- Other duties/responsibilities may be assigned to this position at the superintendent
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience with small engine repair
- Valid Driver's License and ability to back up a trailer
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to work independently
- Problem solver, decisive, and high sense of urgency
- Knowledge of the use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., carrying, pushing and/or pulling
- Ability to work in extreme weather environments (both a non-climate-controlled warehouse and outdoors in all-weather environments and conditions)
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, crawl
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Nice to have:
- Forklift certified
- Prior experience in the construction industry
- Ability to speak Spanish
- Any knowledge in sheet metal or welding
