Warehouse Manager

About This Role

Managing the daily operations of a warehouse, including scheduling, coordinating staff, and overseeing the facility's security and maintenance, is the core of this role. The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for customer service for assigned accounts and assisting with shipment scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, train, conduct performance reviews, and retain employees
• Schedule and oversee work, considering priority, workload, customer requirements, and accepted productivity standards
• Work with different teams to ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments have been received
• Assure that documentation is prepared and available for all warehouse activity
• Assure the completeness and accuracy of documentation produced by warehouse staff
• Track activity and inventory using the warehouse management system (WMS)
• Monitor any required training and certifications
• Maintain records of daily inspections, repair, and maintenance of forklifts, trucks, pallet jacks, and any other equipment
• Assure that all people in the warehouse are equipped with the proper apparel, visibility items, and safety equipment
• Communicate and enforce all OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
• Monitor the cleanliness in the warehouse and facility grounds
• Monitor equipment and tool check-out and check-in control processes
• Monitor security systems such as locks, fences, surveillance systems, and lock-up procedures

Requirements

• Associate Degree (A.A.) from college or technical school preferred
• Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified license of powered material handling equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, see clearly and talk or hear
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unassisted
• Ability to carry and climb a ladder
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
• Ability to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
• Ability to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements
