Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance about store products, including grocery items and retail merchandise
- Operate cash registers efficiently, handling retail sales transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer management with accuracy
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to maintain a clean, attractive store environment aligned with merchandising standards
- Assist customers with inquiries using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Support inventory management through stocking, inventory checks, and ensuring product availability on the sales floor
- Maintain retail store product knowledge to effectively assist customers and promote sales initiatives
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership roles in retail settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills with bilingual abilities considered an asset for serving diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems, cashiering, and retail math for accurate transactions
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales processing
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and retail store product placement strategies
- Excellent phone etiquette, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in stocking, product demos, upselling, and retail sales transactions is highly desirable
