VP, Accounting & Finance

VP, Finance & Accounting | Nashville Area

We are partnering with a growing, operationally focused organization seeking a VP, Finance & Accounting to join its leadership team. Reporting directly to the President, this individual will provide strategic financial leadership while remaining closely involved in the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader who enjoys being both a strategic business partner and a hands-on operator . The ideal candidate will be approachable, collaborative, and comfortable building relationships across all levels of an organization-from field and operational employees to executive leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all finance and accounting functions
• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, banking, tax compliance, reporting, and financial controls
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and the month-end/year-end close processes
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting while providing ongoing analysis of performance against plan
• Provide cash flow, profitability, cost, and other financial analysis to support business decisions
• Partner with the President and executive leadership team on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and investments
• Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and financial metrics to improve visibility into business performance
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax and regulatory requirements
• Oversee sales and use tax, property tax, audits, reviews, and tax preparation in partnership with external advisors
• Provide oversight of inventory controls, fixed assets, and asset protection
• Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Optimize ERP, accounting systems, reporting tools, and financial processes
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial reporting
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting and finance team
• Build strong relationships across the organization and help employees understand the financial impact of operational decisions
• Translate financial information into clear, practical insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience within a finance or accounting function
• CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls
• Experience leading the financial operations of a growing, operationally focused organization preferred
• ERP/accounting software experience required
• Demonstrated experience improving processes, reporting, and internal controls
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business decision-making skills
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with a willingness to stay engaged in the details
