About the role
The Visual Communications Manager will contribute to Wonderscope’s mission by creating innovative, engaging, and functional visual communications. The ideal candidate will be a personable, self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a diverse, playful, team-oriented environment and supports Wonderscope's mission, vision, and values.
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop branding and materials for museum programming
- Develop branding and materials for fundraising events and campaigns
- Design digital and print museum signage, ads, and collateral
- Take photos and videos of museum activities and events
- Create graphics for social media platforms
- Work with printers to complete print projects
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a minimum of three years’ experience in graphic design and illustration
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva
- Proficiency in photography and videography
- Ability to work independently to manage and prioritize multiple projects, complete last-minute projects, and meet deadlines efficiently and with ease
- Commitment to excellence in customer service and teamwork
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to genuinely communicate with diverse guests of all backgrounds and abilities
- High comfort level working in a fast-paced, high-traffic, public environment
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other staff members as a positive team player
- A strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of WCM
Hours of work: Monday 9:00a-3:00p, Tuesday-Friday 8:30a-4:30p
Compensation: $35,000-$40,000 salary, dependent on experience and ability. Benefits include health/dental/vision options, flexible PTO, and 401(k).
