About This Role
This newly created role offers a Vice President of Finance the opportunity to become a senior finance leader and a strategic partner to the CEO at a growing manufacturing company. The role involves translating financial data into clear, actionable insights to guide the company's direction.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and scenario modeling
- Build and maintain integrated financial models (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) to support strategic and operational decisions
- Anticipate the financial questions behind business decisions in sales, operations, product innovation, and capital investment
- Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance metrics
- Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and working capital
- Run forward-looking cash projections and monitor debt covenant compliance
- Establish internal controls, financial policies, and risk management practices, including oversight of tax and insurance coverage
- Oversee the accounting function and ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting under GAAP
- Strengthen month-end close processes and internal controls
- Coordinate external audits and tax compliance with outside CPA partners
- Partner with operations on product costing, standard costing, inventory, gross margin, variance analysis, and capacity utilization
- Evaluate capital projects and new initiatives using ROI and feasibility analysis
- Support pricing strategy, new product launches, and profitability improvement initiatives
- Get the most out of NetSuite, improving reporting, dashboards, and data quality
- Support ongoing reporting and analytics initiatives that feed sales and operations forecasting
- Lead and develop a team of 4, including the Director of Accounting
- Mentor team members and build a high-performing finance organization
- Communicate financial insight clearly to directors and leaders who don’t have a finance background
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Manufacturing experience required
- Strong FP&A, cost accounting, treasury, and internal controls background
- Experience at a mid-sized company (roughly $50M–$100M in revenue) preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience (NetSuite strongly preferred)
- Strong communicator who builds trust across departments and balances strategy with hands-on execution
