Vice President of Accounting

About This Role

This executive role involves overseeing a multi-location accounting function and building the necessary infrastructure for continued growth within a leader in the Business Services space. The position is highly strategic, focusing on driving consistency, scalability, and strong financial governance across a complex operating environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and standardize accounting operations across multiple states to ensure consistent financial reporting
• Manage the month-end close process and quarterly and annual reporting cycles, ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Lead and mentor regional controllers and accounting teams to build a strong finance leadership pipeline
• Drive the integration of accounting systems and processes post-acquisition to support rapid growth
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic financial planning and cash flow management to support growth initiatives

Requirements

• Deep expertise in construction accounting and revenue recognition, particularly work-in-process and percentage of completion methods
• Experience in a private equity-backed environment managing multiple entities with a shared services model
• Proven leadership skills with a focus on change management and process standardization across diverse teams
• Ability to influence and develop talent without micromanaging, fostering a collaborative work environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP compliance and ASC 606 revenue recognition complexities
