About the role
You tour a facility and immediately notice what others miss — the ceiling tile that's come loose but wasn't reported, the HVAC unit that's been making noise for days, the landscaping contractor who completed only half the work yet submitted a full invoice. You don't wait for complaints to surface. You resolve issues before they become visible problems.
That ability defines this position. 2 Hour Learning runs premium K–12 facilities where families expect an environment that is secure, reliable, and presentation-ready every day — not only when special events occur. You'll maintain that standard throughout the Northeast region: Manhattan serves as your primary location, supplemented by regular visits to campuses in CT, MA, and PA. Your efforts determine whether a campus consistently delivers a premium experience or quietly deteriorates between leadership reviews.
Year one focuses heavily on establishing standards and restructuring vendor relationships — defining what "ready" means operationally, implementing audit protocols, removing underperforming vendors, and bringing Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists into a sustainable operating cadence. As additional schools join the region and your operational framework matures, the role evolves toward ongoing regional oversight: you become the operations expert the organization turns to when launching new campuses, managing emergencies, or revising standards.
This position is field-intensive. If you prefer desktop management, this role isn't suitable. If you want direct accountability for ensuring 25+ campuses maintain premium standards daily — with full authority to execute — continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing- Performing scheduled on-site inspections at Northeast campuses using documented standards covering cleanliness, HVAC, safety, security, signage, landscaping, furniture, and presentation-readiness — and converting observations into confirmed corrective actions Managing facilities problems and urgent situations, coordinating vendor response, and closing work orders only after confirming resolution (urgent items <24 hours, standard items <1 week)- Overseeing local vendor execution against service-level agreements, removing consistently underperforming vendors, renegotiating contract terms, and conducting direct accountability discussions regarding quality and pricing
-
Establishing a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure campuses operate through standardized routines rather than individual heroics
-
Overseeing significant campus improvement projects (HVAC replacements, interior updates, landscaping enhancements, AV/networking installations) within timeline and budget constraints while minimizing student impact
-
Documenting enterprise standards and AI-powered procurement frameworks (utilizing ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance systems, and centralized vendor sourcing) to ensure consistent campus launch and operation
-
Delivering concise weekly written updates covering regional quality metrics, vendor performance data, escalated issues, and capital expenditure tracking What You Won’t Be Doing
-
Operating remotely from reports — this position demands frequent physical presence at the Manhattan location plus 20–40% travel to regional campuses (CT, MA, PA)
-
Managing new campus design or overseeing ground-up construction projects — capital expansion belongs to a separate function
-
Establishing enterprise procurement policy without field validation — your standards emerge from direct site observation
-
Working within clean organizational hierarchies with formal authority over all personnel affecting your outcomes — you'll create accountability through documentation, written follow-through, and rejection of ambiguous vendor commitments
-
Treating "presentation-ready only during leadership visits" as acceptable — recurring problems receive root-cause analysis, not repeated work orders
-
Operating in constant reactive mode — the inspection schedule and predictive maintenance tools exist to identify failures before they generate complaints
