Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care
- Obtain patient histories and assist with examinations
- Perform routine veterinary procedures including vaccinations, wound care, and diagnostic sample collection
- Administer medications orally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, intravenously, and topically as directed
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthetized patients and adjust anesthetic levels as needed based on patient condition
- Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters
- Perform digital radiography
- Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment logs
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience
- Strong surgery and anesthesia experience
- Ability to independently monitor anesthesia and make appropriate adjustments based on patient parameters
- Experience with laboratory procedures and diagnostic sample collection
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques
- Ability to place intravenous catheters efficiently and confidently
- Experience performing digital radiographs and dental radiographs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
