This role involves providing essential support in a veterinary setting, assisting with a wide range of animal care tasks from routine exams to surgical procedures. Responsibilities
- Restrain pets
- Triage incoming patients
- Collect and analyze lab samples
- Perform diagnostic imaging
- Manage and provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administer medications
- Effectively communicate treatment plans with clients
- Prepare for and assist with surgical procedures
- Manage anesthesia
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
- Compassionate and calm team-player
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to properly restrain pets
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Nice to have:
- Proficient in sample collection
- Proficient in obtaining medical histories
- Proficient in processing laboratory tests and radiographs
- Proficient in anesthesia monitoring
