About This Role

This contract veterinarian role focuses on providing high-quality wellness and vaccination services for pets at in-person vaccine events. It suits an experienced, tech-savvy, and client-focused veterinarian who wants to make a real impact in veterinary medicine through flexible scheduling and telemedicine support.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine wellness and vaccination services for dogs and cats
• Review vaccine history, determine appropriate vaccine schedules, and administer or supervise vaccine administration as permitted by state regulations
• Perform brief physical exams, confirm vaccines are appropriate, and establish a VCPR when required
• Review and interpret SNAP test results and provide appropriate recommendations when results are abnormal
• Recommend appropriate parasite prevention and other preventative care based on each pet’s needs
• Maintain accurate medical records and complete all required documentation, including rabies certificates
• Monitor for vaccine reactions and respond appropriately, including following the designated after-hours emergency hospital/referral plan when needed
• Educate pet owners on vaccine recommendations, expected reactions, parasite prevention, and general wellness
• Work closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive client experience
• Provide empathetic, high-quality care while following clinical protocols and adapting to each pet’s individual needs
• Continuously develop your clinical skills, with opportunities for responsibilities to expand over time
• Remain onsite for the duration of the scheduled vaccine clinic

Requirements

• Graduated from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completed requirements to practice in the United States
• Active license in one or more of the states where Dutch operates
• License in good standing with no malpractice or disciplinary actions
• 3+ years post-graduate clinical experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative, compassionate approach to care
• Comfort using telehealth tools and managing consults independently
• Weekend availability

• Contract: 1099 contractor role
• Schedule: flexible hours, looking for 10-15 hours per week, with a preference for weekend availability
