About the role

As a Valuation Control Analyst within the Valuation Control Group (VCG), you will execute independent price verification and benchmark processes to support accurate fair value reporting. You will be responsible for calculating fair value adjustments, supporting control initiatives and regulatory deliverables, and partnering with functional teams to resolve valuation matters. You will enhance the control framework by improving independent pricing processes, assessing coverage needs, and implementing tools that increase efficiency and consistency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute independent price verification and benchmarking processes, including calculation of fair value adjustments.
  • Analyze pricing results and investigate exceptions to ensure fair value outcomes are supported and explainable.
  • Support established VCG control initiatives and practices to maintain a strong valuation control environment.
  • Produce management reporting and support regulatory deliverables aligned to broader VCG framework requirements.
  • Partner with Business, Risk, Finance, and other functional teams to resolve valuation-related issues and implement appropriate remediation.
  • Enhance the control framework by reviewing independent pricing processes and identifying control gaps.
  • Assess and recommend coverage developments as product scope, risk profile, or market conditions evolve.
  • Implement tools and automation to improve control efficiency and consistency of valuation processes.
  • Contribute to value-added initiatives supporting Business, Risk, and Finance priorities.
  • Prioritize multiple deliverables effectively while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as finance or economics.
  • Demonstrate understanding of valuation concepts for financial products and derivatives with foundational accounting knowledge.
  • Analyze complex products and transaction/process flows with strong attention to detail.
  • Apply strong analytical and quantitative aptitude to support valuation and control assessments.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally to stakeholders across functions.
  • Utilize advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to support analysis and reporting.
  • Manage competing priorities effectively and deliver under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Hold a graduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Bring relevant experience in the financial services industry, including Markets, risk, or finance functions.
  • Use Visual Basic, databases, and/or automation techniques to streamline control processes.
  • Demonstrate experience contributing to control initiatives, audit support, or regulatory responses.
  • Partner effectively across business-aligned valuation teams (e.g., Macro, Credit, Equities, Securitized, Treasury/CTC).
