About This Role
This valet role is responsible for cleaning, supplying, and servicing guest rooms, suites, guest corridors, and garden borders according to hotel standards. The position also involves assisting with guest requests to ensure high guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Attend duty on time in correct uniform and well-groomed
- Attend daily briefing at the beginning of each shift
- Be fully trained on resort standards and procedures required to carry out daily tasks
- Follow the resort's key control policy
- Proceed to the HSK office to receive the task sheet for the day
- Use and maintain all chemicals, supplies, and equipment as per resort standards
- Clean all guest corridors pertaining to the section, garden borders, empty ashtrays, and ensure wet floors are dry when raining
- Fill pantries with necessary par level of linen
- Clean and replenish the linen in guest rooms as per resort standards
- Clear and clean the pantry, empty garbage, and bring down the soiled linen
- Prepare the “cleaning Service bag” for the next day
- Carry out and complete daily task control sheet
- Carry out and complete all daily assigned tasks as per resort standards
- Report malfunctioning tools, incidents, and guest room issues correctly to supervisor as per resort standards
- Report lost and found articles as per resort standards
- Report in-room safe issues as per resort standards and policies
- Report unusual guest behavior or activities as per resort standards
- Have thorough knowledge of the layout of the guest rooms and corridors, and all HK storage spaces with what they hold
- Follow resort health and safety policies and procedures
- Attend training when required by the department and resort
- Carry out any other job-related duties when requested by your immediate Manager/HOD
- Work as scheduled to a rotating roster, which will include morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts, as well as weekends and public holidays (as per Mauritian Law)
Requirements
- School Certificate
- National Certificate Level 3 in any given field
- 2 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Fluent in written and spoken French
- Physical capabilities to consistently do reasonable lifting, moving, bending, raising of arms, and be on your feet for the majority of duty
