About This Role
This hands-on UX Researcher role shapes end-to-end experiences across Altium 365, a cloud platform for electronics design and manufacturing. The researcher will connect product decisions to real users by conducting conversations and testing ideas before they are built. The role offers significant autonomy to own the research practice and work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers from problem framing to post-launch validation.
Responsibilities
- Own the participant pipeline, including recruiting, screening, scheduling, incentives, and consent
- Run interviews, contextual inquiries, diary studies, and surveys
- Build a steady cadence of user contact to ensure fresh input is regularly available to the team
- Partner with designers and product managers to transform open questions into research questions
- Run usability tests and concept tests on wireframes, prototypes, and live features
- Choose appropriate research methods, including quick, scrappy studies when speed is critical
- Deliver clear findings that outline necessary changes and trade-offs
- Set up and curate a searchable database of findings, tagged by product area, user segment, and theme
- Connect new findings to older ones to identify emerging patterns over time
- Ensure the insights repository is genuinely usable for the entire team, not just an archive
- Track which insights influenced which decisions and revisit assumptions that have not held up
- Coach designers and product managers to conduct their own lightweight studies effectively
- Share findings in accessible formats such as short readouts, highlight reels, and workshops
- Challenge decisions made on opinion when evidence is available or inexpensive to obtain
Requirements
- 3+ years in UX/product research, or a closely adjacent role with substantial hands-on research work
- Solid command of qualitative methods
- Sufficient quantitative literacy to design a survey and interpret product analytics
- Experience testing prototypes at various fidelities and understanding the insights each stage provides
- Clear communication skills to convey findings to skeptical stakeholders efficiently
- Comfort working in ambiguity and scoping research to fit realistic timelines
- Familiarity with research operations tooling (Dovetail, Condens, Maze, UserTesting, or similar)
- Professional level English
Nice to have:
- Experience setting up an insights repository from scratch
- Background in engineering, PCB design, or other complex domains
- Basic familiarity with Figma and design workflows
