About the role

Duties
As a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator, WG-4742-11, you will operate a large Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) for surveillance and operational control of utility and building environmental systems and diagnose problems in support of those activities charged with the maintenance and repair of these systems. You will also:

  • Manage and control the operation of a large number of utility and building environmental systems through the use of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA).
  • Diagnose and take proper action to correct alarm conditions signaled by the EMCS.
  • Use knowledge of the principles of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), including control systems, to make decisions concerning troubleshooting, system operation, and energy consumption.
  • Perform diagnostic testing of software and hardware functions as an aid in troubleshooting integrated systems and subsystem components determining system integrity.
