About This Role
This role is for an experienced USA Truck Dispatcher to join a trucking operations team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with USA freight dispatching, DAT One, load boards, broker communication, driver coordination, and rate negotiation.
Responsibilities
- Find and book profitable loads through DAT One / Load Boards
- Search loads according to truck location, equipment, and preferred lanes
- Negotiate rates with brokers and maximize truck revenue
- Communicate professionally with US-based brokers and drivers
- Dispatch and coordinate trucks from pickup to delivery
- Handle Rate Confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and other dispatch documents
- Track pickups and deliveries
- Handle detention, layover, and TONU requests
- Maintain accurate daily load and dispatch records
- Build relationships with brokers and identify better-paying freight
- Resolve day-to-day issues between drivers, brokers, and customers
Requirements
- 1+ year experience in USA Truck Dispatching preferred
- Strong hands-on knowledge of DAT One / DAT Load Board
- Experience with Truckstop or other load boards is a plus
- Good understanding of US freight lanes and market rates
- Strong rate negotiation skills
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Confident communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of trucking terminology and documentation
- Ability to manage multiple trucks and loads efficiently
- Willingness to work 4 PM – 1 AM
- Experience with Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, Box Truck, Straight Truck, or Power Only is a plus
