Unreal Engine Gameplay Programmer

About This Role

This full-time role is for a gameplay programmer with experience in C++ and Unreal Engine 5, focusing on creating 3D interactive games, gameplay systems, and artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team, collaborating with art and design departments to improve gameplay, features, and overall game quality.

Responsibilities

• Engineer high-quality 3D games using C++ and Unreal Engine 5
• Implement game functionality as per game design documents
• Design, create, implement, debug, and refine gameplay features and game mechanics
• Make systems editable by designers without engineer support (e.g., scripts, Blueprints)
• Proactively problem-solve performance and stability issues
• Complete multiple iterations of systems to suit both code and design requirements

Requirements

• Experience in development with C++, creating 3D interactive games, gameplay systems, and artificial intelligence
• Experience in P2P multiplayer games and network code
• Use of Discord for communication
• Must be in a country with a US tax treaty
• Excellent communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient remote work habits and the ability to work in an independent or self-directed manner
• 3+ years experience in software development engineering on gameplay teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience
