About This Role

This underwriting role involves providing expert advice on auto and property insurance products, ensuring compliance with guidelines, and reviewing claims to determine appropriate actions. It suits a candidate with strong organizational and interpersonal skills who can work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, accurate, and efficient advice regarding Auto Insurance and Property Insurance products to front-line agents and brokers
• Ensure compliance with underwriting rules, guidelines, and practices in line with delegated authority
• Ensure that endorsements, renewals, reissues, and cancellations are reviewed and analyzed in accordance with company standards and guidelines
• Review claims, both auto and property, to determine appropriate underwriting action
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with brokers and agents to contribute to service quality, problem resolution, and risk selection, in accordance with company standards

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in personal lines auto and property underwriting
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task
• Strong decision-making skills, risk assessment ability, and P&C product knowledge
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Access and Excel)
• Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or currently holds or working towards CIP is required
