About the role

The Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation Coordinator assist in the planning and execution of large-scale recruitment events. This includes on-campus events such as New Student Orientation, Blue and Gold Preview, and Accepted Student Day and off-campus events like the Power C Road Trip. This position will work closely with the lead event planners to ensure seamless event planning and coordination of materials. This Coordinator will also serve as an office manager, executing administrative tasks such as invoices, contracts, time sheets, office materials, etc.

Event Coordination and Recruitment Operations

  • Assists with planning large scale on and off campus recruitment events and will work with off-and-on-campus partners to coordinate a schedule, materials, and oversight of these events
  • Serves as a point of contact for internal and external entities as it pertains to enrollment and recruitment signature events, such as Blue and Gold Preview Days, Power C Tours, Admitted Student Day, and Orientation
  • Oversee the administrative functions of recruitment activities related to Orientation and Undergraduate Admissions events
  • Coordinates marketing materials, material organization, and outreach activities in collaboration with appropriate UTC departments such as Marketing and Communication and Student Success Centers
  • Will have oversight of print and digital publications and platforms (such as the Orientation handbook, pre-Orientation modules, campus tour brochures, and accepted student packets), monitoring and identifying trends and suggestions for improvements to recruitment programs, publications, and events, and collaborating with the Enrollment Management team
  • This position will serve as an administrative assistant to the office, maintaining a clean and organized office space.
  • Handles the office staff calendar to ensure programming has the correct staff available and scheduled
  • The Event Coordinator will oversee the organization and ordering process for event and office materials to ensure seamless office functions
  • Indirect supervision of graduate assistants, NODA Interns, and student leaders
  • Assists with the recruitment, selection, and training of undergraduate and student staff for the Campus Tour Guide and Orientation Leader positions, working with the Assistant Directors in various capacities

Office Administrations and Operational Support

Competencies/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of admissions process, policy, and procedures, Admissions funnel, Acceptance rates and yield rates and strategies, Enrollment Management processes and theory, summer melt and strategy, communication strategies, student development theory, Orientation strategy, event planning and management
  • Strong organization, Process multiple complicated situations at once, Microsoft Office, Banner 9, Banner xtender, streamline processes, Problem solving
  • Lead and manager people, self-directed, listen to other and make decisions based on new knowledge

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Relevant experience working in a related field(s) or at the University level. Experience with event coordination and management.

Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of experience in a related field or at the University level. Experience in undergraduate admissions event planning.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Anticipated hiring salary: $45,000 - $48,000
