Ultrasound Technician

About This Role

This role is for an Ultrasound Technician committed to making communities healthier by providing exceptional care at Raleigh General Hospital. You will perform sonographic examinations and procedures and contribute to a team focused on patient well-being and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician for delivery of care and services
• Maintain appropriate supplies and a clean and orderly work area
• Notify supervisor of needed items
• Maintain equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity
• Provide age-appropriate care to all patients
• Act as a physician/staff consultant and educational resource for appropriateness and accuracy of scans

Requirements

• Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology
• Licenses: American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Other; Graduate from an accredited DMS program OR DMS Certification
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
• Experience: ARRT should have one year of DMS experience (preferred only)
• Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department; Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required; Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner; Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital departments
