Ultrasound Technician

About This Role

Performing high-quality ultrasound examinations across various specialties for accurate interpretation by radiologists is the core of this role. The Ultrasound Technician ensures proper equipment calibration, maintains an organized work area, and provides appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small-parts ultrasound examinations for accurate interpretation by the radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness
• Ensure proper equipment calibration
• Maintain an organized work area and adequate supplies
• Provide appropriate care to patients across the lifespan
• Serve as a clinical resource to physicians and staff regarding scan accuracy and appropriateness
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education
• Uphold regular, reliable attendance while adhering to safety and infection-control standards

Requirements

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology
• Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire

Nice to have:

• One (1) year of diagnostic medical sonography experience
