Ultrasound Technician

About This Role

This full-time Ultrasound Technician position is responsible for acquiring ultrasound images used in medical diagnoses, performing sonography in accordance with applicable standards and organizational policies. The technician will maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation, contributing to a professional and caring environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet all patients courteously and ensure their needs are met
• Review patient identification and verify physician orders
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of imaging procedures, explaining equipment, and answering questions
• Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to the physician
• Maximize production and quality of ultrasounds by following established standards and procedures
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Document patient ultrasound services by completing patient record charting
• Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice including but not limited to quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduate of a certified ultrasound program
• ARDMS certified and in good standing
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients in a professional and caring manner
