Ultrasound Technician

About This Role

Working as an Ultrasound Technician on the GYN team involves performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations with a primary focus on maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology. The role requires accurate imaging, compassionate patient care, and a strong foundation in medical imaging, anatomy, and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including obstetric, gynecologic, and other specialized imaging as required
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures clearly and ensuring their comfort throughout the process
• Operate ultrasound equipment with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
• Analyze images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary for optimal diagnostic results
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret findings and provide detailed reports
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in compliance with medical standards
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and sanitized according to safety protocols
• Stay current with advancements in sonography technology, maternal-fetal medicine practices, and related medical fields

Requirements

• Proven experience in performing diagnostic sonography with a focus on maternal-fetal medicine or Ob/Gyn imaging preferred
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to ultrasound procedures
• Familiarity with medical imaging equipment and diagnostic radiology principles
• Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in sensitive situations
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control standards essential for maintaining a sterile environment during procedures
• Prior experience working within a clinical setting that emphasizes anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and detailed imaging analysis is highly desirable
