Ultrasound Technician

About This Role

This part-time Ultrasound Technician role at Oxford Clinic for Women involves acquiring ultrasound images for medical diagnoses, performing sonography according to established standards, and maintaining a patient-focused approach to care and documentation. The position has the potential to become full-time based on future staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet all patients courteously and ensure their needs are met
• Review patient identification and verify physician orders
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of imaging procedures, explaining equipment, and answering questions
• Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to the physician
• Maximize production and quality of ultrasounds by following established standards and procedures
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Document patient ultrasound services by completing patient record charting
• Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice including, but not limited to, quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduate of a certified ultrasound program
• ARDMS certified and in good standing
• Extensive experience in OB/GYN
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients in a professional and caring manner
