UAV Pilot (External & Internal Pilot)

About This Role

This role involves conducting Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flight operations, including prototype testing, mission planning, flight demonstrations, and operational support for fixed-wing and Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) platforms. The pilot will support UAV design and development activities, execute flight missions, and ensure safe and efficient operations across various field-test environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct prototype small-UAV flight operations for fixed-wing and VTOL platforms
• Support military and civilian customer operations, flight demonstrations, and related activities
• Contribute to the design, development, and operational adaptation of new UAV platforms
• Perform mission planning, including payload operations, aircraft launch and recovery, and flight operations in coordination with the External Pilot
• Operate mission sensor systems and support UAV subsystem and component-related activities
• Manage mission planning, documentation, data handling, and analysis
• Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office for operational documentation, reporting, and data management

Requirements

• 2–6 years of relevant experience in UAV flight operations or related activities
• Hands-on experience in Fixed-Wing UAV operations
• Strong Radio-Controlled (RC) flying skills, particularly with heavier aircraft and UAV platforms
• Ability to operate and handle larger UAV systems
• Sound understanding of flight safety standards and operational procedures
• Willingness and ability to undertake outdoor assignments in extreme climatic conditions for short periods
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 20 kg unassisted over short distances
• Willingness to travel frequently to field locations for flight operations, testing, and demonstrations
• Strong learning ability with keen attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
