Typist - Radiology

About This Role

Typing and preparing radiology reports from voice recordings and dictation is the core of this role. The Radiology Typist ensures accuracy in medical terminology, patient details, and formatting for various imaging types, coordinating with radiologists for any necessary corrections.

Responsibilities

• Type and prepare radiology reports based on the radiologist's voice recordings/dictation
• Accurately transcribe reports for X-Ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, etc.
• Ensure correct spelling, medical terminology, patient details, and report formatting
• Coordinate with radiologists for report corrections or clarifications
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and medical information
• Ensure reports are completed and released within the required TAT
• Upload/update reports in the RIS/HIS/PACS or diagnostic software
• Maintain proper records and follow departmental SOPs
• Coordinate with front office and other departments whenever required

Requirements

• Good typing speed and accuracy
• Knowledge of medical terminology, especially radiology terms
• Good English grammar and communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge and MS Office skills
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple reports

Nice to have:

• Prior experience in a diagnostic centre/hospital
• 1–3 years of experience; candidates with relevant hospital/diagnostic experience can be considered
