About This Role
The Trucking Dispatcher receives service requests, schedules drivers and equipment, communicates job information, monitors active loads, and helps ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
Responsibilities
- Receive and document customer service requests
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks, and trailers according to job requirements
- Provide drivers with accurate pickup, delivery, location, and contact information
- Coordinate oilfield equipment installations, pulls, transfers, and other transportation services
- Monitor active jobs and maintain communication with drivers
- Communicate delays, scheduling changes, and job updates to customers and management
- Confirm drivers have the correct equipment for each assignment
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver schedules, job notes, and supporting documentation
- Review tickets and job information for completeness before billing
- Track driver availability, hours, and time-off requests
- Work closely with operations, safety, billing, and management
- Follow company policies and applicable DOT and safety requirements
- Professionally resolve scheduling conflicts and operational issues
- Protect confidential company, employee, and customer information
Requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, analysis, and customer service skills; able to manage competing priorities and communicate clearly
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Experience or familiarity with dispatching, trucking, oilfield or logistics
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, dispatching software, GPS systems, and electronic ticketing
- Ability to manage multiple drivers, jobs, and priorities simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to make sound decisions with limited supervision
- Basic understanding of DOT hours-of-service requirements
- Dependable and able to work the assigned schedule
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Dispatching: 2 years (Required)
