The Trucking Dispatcher coordinates and manages fuel transportation operations to ensure efficient, timely deliveries and optimal fleet utilization. Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch operations for fuel shipments, ensuring all deliveries are scheduled accurately and efficiently using transportation management systems
- Communicate effectively with drivers to provide route updates, address issues, and optimize delivery schedules
- Manage shipping and receiving schedules, coordinate with warehouse teams on load statuses, and oversee freight documentation to support seamless supply chain flow
- Utilize data entry skills for accurate logging of dispatch activities, delivery statuses, and driver logs
- Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in dispatching, routing, or fleet management
- Maintain professional phone etiquette and clear communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams to foster positive relationships and resolve issues promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation management environments
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning, supply chain operations, and freight management processes
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret data related to fleet performance and route optimization
- Effective communication skills with the ability to handle phone etiquette professionally under pressure
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures along with fleet management best practices
