About This Role
This Truck Driver role specializes in Over-the-Road (OTR) routes, connecting goods to markets across vast distances. The position involves operating Box trucks and ensuring timely and safe deliveries, and it suits a driver who thrives on adventure and navigating diverse routes.
Responsibilities
- Operate Box Trucks across long-distance OTR routes, ensuring compliance with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload freight—including hazardous materials and dangerous goods—using manual handling techniques and proper cargo handling procedures
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to plan optimal routes while adapting to road conditions and traffic updates
- Manage Box Trucks as required, ensuring proper control and secure cargo transport
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and compliance records in accordance with logistics standards
- Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and professional communication at each stop
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving—especially freight delivery via route driving—and familiarity with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods
- Ability to handle manual loading and unloading tasks safely; physically capable of manual handling requirements associated with logistics cargo handling
- Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems; excellent route planning abilities for efficient delivery schedules
- Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to all federal and state transportation laws
