About This Role
Coordinating the scheduling and routing of freight shipments is the core of this role, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient transportation operations. The Truck Dispatcher will manage logistics, communicate with various stakeholders, and utilize transportation management systems to optimize routes and improve supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as AVAAL
- Manage shipping and receiving schedules to ensure timely delivery and pickup of freight
- Communicate with drivers, clients, and vendors via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Enter shipment data accurately into relevant systems, ensuring all information is up-to-date for tracking purposes
- Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for route optimization and cost savings
- Monitor freight movements and troubleshoot issues related to delays or discrepancies
- Maintain organized records of shipments, delivery confirmations, and related documentation
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to coordinate third-party logistics (3PL) activities as needed
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and inventory management
- Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- Proven experience in transportation management systems such as AVAAL or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations, freight logistics, and shipping and receiving procedures
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Analytical skills to interpret logistics data and optimize dispatch operations
- Proficiency in typing and managing multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
- Proficiency in speaking Hindi and Punjabi is required
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with drivers, clients, and internal teams
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
