About This Role
This role involves coordinating freight movement and managing daily transportation operations to ensure efficient scheduling, routing, and delivery of shipments. The Truck Dispatcher will utilize transportation management systems and strong communication skills to support supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction, taking a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Find, negotiate, coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Loadlink
- Communicate with drivers, carriers, and clients via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Manage shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring timely pickup and delivery of freight
- Enter data accurately into relevant systems, including freight details, delivery times, and shipment statuses
- Analyze transportation data to optimize routes, reduce delays, and improve overall efficiency
- Collaborate with the supply chain team and 3PL providers to streamline logistics operations
- Monitor freight movements, troubleshoot issues, and provide real-time updates to stakeholders
- Maintain organized records of shipments, deliveries, and related documentation for reporting purposes
Requirements
- Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Loadlink
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight operations, and shipping & receiving processes
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analysis skills to interpret transportation data for operational improvements
- Effective communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
- Proficient typing skills for quick data entry and documentation tasks
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
